Marge tries to join a group of women; however, they turn her away after Homer gets into a fight with the Easter Bunny at the Mayor’s egg hunt. She then finds another group called “The Cheery Red Tomatoes,” and agrees to help them steal Mr. Burns’ Faberge Egg collection as a charity event. Homer joins them in the robbery, and they are caught, but let go after the jury refused to convict them. Lisa realizes that she needs to speak Italian as a prerequisite to living in Italy for the summer. After selecting a teacher from a classified add, she discovers the teacher is Millhouse. The two develop a romantic relationship, which soon dissolves when Lisa thinks Millhouse is becoming a chauvinist.
"The Italian Bob"
Mr. Burns sends the Simpsons to Italy to retrieve an Italian sports car after he crashes his Stutz Bearcat. While in Italy, the family is in an accident and end up in a small village where Sideshow Bob is the mayor. They realize that Bob has changes his ways and is loved by the residents in the town. The Simpsons decide not to disclose his past behaviors to the residents and to Bob’s new family. After Lisa drinks too much wine, she reveals the truth about Bob’s past, which leads Bob to relapse to his old ways. Meanwhile, the Simpsons attend an opera starring Krusty the Clown. Bob and his family try to attack the Simpsons during the performance; however, Krusty saves them and takes them in his limo.

"The First (Annoyed Grunt) - El"
When Reverend Lovejoy’s car breaks down on the way to the Christmas mass, Homer leads the service by giving his interpretation of the story of Christ’s birth. His version includes Homer as Joseph, Marge as Mary, Bart as the baby Jesus, and Mr. Burns as King Herod.
"I Saw Grampa Cussing Santa Claus"
Grandpa talks about being a fighter pilot in WWII, saying that he and his gunner, Mr. Burns, were shot down and stranded on an island. He explains that he is trying to catch Santa Clause in a bear trap this Christmas Eve, because when he and Burns were stranded, they shot Santa from the sky, thinking that he was an enemy aircraft. When they realized they shot Santa Clause, they helped him repair his sleigh. Grandpa says that Burns then stole the sleigh and left the island. Grandpa returned the sleigh to Santa Clause, who then said he would send help for Grandpa to get off the island; however, he never did.
"The Nutcracker... Sweet"
The music of the Nutcracker plays as the Simpsons and their friends get ready for Christmas. Marge has a difficult time preparing Christmas dinner, Homer looks for Marge’s gift, and Moe tries to commit suicide.
"Homer's Paternity Coot"
After receiving an old letter, Homer realizes that his biological father might be a British treasure hunter, named Mason Fairbanks, and not Abe. Homer finds Mason Fairbanks, the person who wrote the letter, and has him take a DNA test, which shows that he is Homer’s natural father. Homer travels with him to hunt for a sunken treasure. After almost losing his life while searching for the treasure, Homer returns to Abe and learns that Abe switch the DNA results, because he thought Homer wanted Mason to be his father.
"We're on the Road to D'oh-where"
Bart and Millhouse must go to a juvenile delinquent boot camp after causing an explosion that demolished Principal Skinner’s new used car while playing in the Springfield Elementary steam tunnels. Homer is angry, because he now must take Bart to the boot camp instead of attending a trip to Las Vegas, sponsored by Moe’s Tavern. Throughout their trip, Bart and Homer strengthen their father-son ties. At home, Marge has a yard sale and sells the family’s old drug prescriptions, which leads to an arrest.
"My Fair Laddy"
In an attempt to get back at the substitute gym teacher, Bart throws an ice ball and accidentally destroys the school janitor’s house. The Simpsons allow Willie to live with them. Lisa tries to turn Willie into a polished man as her science fair project. When the project is a success, Willie becomes the host at a classy restaurant; however, he misses his old janitor job and decides to return to it. Homer learns that the company that makes his favorite blue pants is going out of business. He decides to advertise the company by painting “blue pants” on his head, which saves the business.
"The Seemingly Never-Ending Story"
While stranded in a cave, Lisa discusses the time she was chased into Mr. Burns’ mansion by a mountain goat and heard that Monty took Maggie’s pacifier. Moe tells how he stole a treasure in an attempt to win over Ms. Krabapple, but when she still rejected him, he threw the treasure in a jukebox. Burns discusses the time he lost his money to a wealthy Texas man and then found Moe’s treasure, which he used to regain his fortune. Homer tricked Lisa into taking him to the cave to find the treasure. When everyone fights to find the treasure first, Marge throws it into a canyon.
"Bart Has Two Mommies"
Marge babysits for Rod and Todd Flanders and allows them to play on a rock climbing wall, which upsets Ned. At the zoo, a chimpanzee pulls Bart in her cage, and is more nurturing to him than his family is. The chimp escapes with Bart and goes to the church steeple where the Simpsons and Flanders unite to save Bart.
