The characters of The Goode Family are really the whole premise of the show. In a world gone way politically correct, the Goodes show audiences how that way of life could go wrong, with the best intentions. Find out more about The Goode Family characters.
Gerald
Gerald Goode (Mike Judge) is a college administrator who lives by the motto WWAGD ("What Would Al Gore Do?"). He and his family are zealous vegans, they drive a hybrid and they recycle everything possible.
Helen
Helen Goode (Nancy Carrell) is a community activist who is determined to obliterate her carbon footprint on the planet. All she wants for the family is to buy organic apples and call minorities by their right names.
Ubuntu
Gerald and Helen thought they were doing the right thing by adopting a baby from Africa, only to learn that Ubuntu (Dave Herman) was South African -- and white. Now a teenager, he eagerly tries to embrace the Goodes' love of things like crafts and organic gardening, even though he just likes driving fast, using tools and watching violent sports.
Bliss
Bliss (Linda Cardellini) is the Goode's teenage daughter. She is constantly mortified by her parents, especially her mom's efforts to talk openly, girlfriend-to-girlfriend, about sex. Ecch.
