'The Goode Family':

The Goode Family is about, well, a family who is obsessed with doing the "right" thing, whether it's environmentally, politically or socially. But they can't seem to get it right, hence the humor. The Goode Family premiered on ABC May 27, 2009.

Premise:

The Goode Family follows the green, vegan, politically correct pursuits of the Goodes, but shows how even the best intentions can go wrong. Even Bliss, the Goode daughter, criticizes the plans of her own family.

Characters:

Gerald Goode (Mike Judge, King of the Hill) is the father of the Goode family. His wife is Helen (Nancy Carell, The Office). They have an adopted son, Ubuntu (Dave Herman, Office Space), and a biological daughter, Bliss (Abby Elliott).

Creators:

The creative team behind The Goode Family includes a variety of Mike Judge's professional posse, such as David Krinsky (King of the Hill), John Altschuler (King of the Hill), Michael Rotenberg (Everybody Hates Chris) and Tom Lassally, a relative newcomer.

My Two Cents:

It's no secret that I love King of the Hill. (See my Top 10 Reasons to Watch King of the Hill.) I also loved Beavis and Butt-head, as well as the live-action movie Office Space, all from Mike Judge. My guess is that this will be a slam dunk, if ABC can support the show appropriately. In the past, they didn't know what to do with animated shows, such as Clerks: Uncensored. And ABC Family's Slacker Cats fell short. Premiering it at the end of May is not a good start. Perhaps Judge can school them about successful animated comedies.
