'The Goode Family':

The Goode Family is about a family who is obsessed with doing the "right" thing, whether it's environmentally, politically or socially. But they can't seem to get it right, hence the humor. The Goode Family premiered on ABC May 27, 2009 and was quickly cancelled. Then it premiered again on Comedy Central on January 4, 2010.

Premise:

The Goode Family follows the green, vegan, politically correct pursuits of the Goodes, but shows how even the best intentions can go wrong. Even Bliss, the Goode daughter, criticizes the plans of her own family. They are fish out of water in their Southern town, trying to keep to their ways but still get along with the neighborhood.

Characters:

Gerald Goode (Mike Judge, King of the Hill) is the father of the Goode family. His wife is Helen (Nancy Carell, The Office). They have an adopted son, Ubuntu (Dave Herman, Office Space), and a biological daughter, Bliss (Linda Cardellini).

Creators:

The creative team behind The Goode Family includes a variety of Mike Judge's professional posse, such as David Krinsky (King of the Hill), John Altschuler (King of the Hill), Michael Rotenberg (Everybody Hates Chris) and Tom Lassally, a relative newcomer.

My Two Cents:

It's no secret that I love King of the Hill. (See my Top 10 Reasons to Watch King of the Hill.) I also loved Beavis and Butt-head, as well as the live-action movie Office Space, all from Mike Judge. Too bad ABC wouldn't support the show appropriately. In the past, they also didn't know what to do with animated shows, such as Clerks: Uncensored. But now that The Goode Family is back on the air on Comedy Central, hopefully the masses will warm to this solid series.
