The Flaming Moe is a drink Homer Simpson concocts when Moe's Tavern runs out of Duff beer one night. This is a cocktail that, if the ingredients were available, would make any party lively. Let's take this opportunity to review the Flaming Moe and the episode surrounding it.

The Recipe
The drink is made up of Tequila, Schnapps, Crème de Menthe and the secret ingredient: Krusty Non-Narkotik Kough Syrup. Once the liquors are mixed, the drink is set aflame. Kathy Hamlin, About's Guide to Cocktails, reviews Homer's concoction and includes it in her recipe index.

The Bar
Moe's Tavern is "The Simpsons" answer to Cheers. The bar is host to local drunkards, er, residents. Moe Szyslak is the owner and bartender. He can be seen washing glasses, or wearing his apron that says, "At Moe's We Love Tourists." Unfortunately, Moe is plagued by a prank caller, Bart Simpson, who phones the bar frequently. Though the pranks are hilarious, Moe's responses are sometimes funnier. The Episode
The Flaming Moe (originally named Flaming Homer) is invented in season three by Homer when Moe's runs out of Duff Beer, due to the lack of patronage. But Moe claims the drink as his own saying, "He may have come up with the recipe, but I came up with the idea of charging $6.95 for it."

Homer becomes hurt and angry. He responds, "If there was any justice, my face would be on a bunch of crappy merchandise." The drink even spawns a theme song with lyrics similar to the theme song of the popular comedy series "Cheers."
