If you are DVD challenged, you can still own lots of great episodes of "South Park" on videotape. Following are the best South Park episodes available on VHS.
The feature film of the animated show goes where primetime television dare not go. The jokes are nastier. The songs have more production value. And the sight gags made me, well, gag. Satan, Saddam Hussein, Big Gay Al, Terrance and Philip, and lots of Canadians make this a hit.
This video is perfect for Christmas! But, I don't recommend watching it with Granny. The first episode is "Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classic," where the whole cast sings a collection of hilarious Christmas songs. Next is "Merry Christmas, Charlie Manson," when Cartman's uncle breaks out of jail with Charles Manson. A "mockumentary" is also thrown in.
The episodes about Timmy can arguably be described as the funniest
South Park episodes. Here, three Timmy-centric shows are packaged together. The first episode has Timmy mistakenly diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder. Next, Timmy saves the class from traveling to another time. Finally, Timmy makes friends with an unusual turkey named Gobbles.
He'll lay you down in front of the fire and... In "Chef Aid," Chef's friends rally together to raise money when he is left penniless after a lawsuit. Explore Chef's life and career in "Chef Aid: Behind the Menu," with Elton John, Flea, and Ozzy Osborne. Watch Chef head down the aisle
These two episodes set the satirical tone of
South Park. I love these episodes because the boys really shine. In "Rainforest Schmainforest," the boys take a trip to the rainforest with the "Getting Gay with Kids" group. In "Chinpoko Mon," the boys are sucked into a plot devised by Japanese toy makers. "Chinpoko Mon" even scored Matt Stone and Trey Park an Emmy nomination.
First, the classic "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe," and "Volcano," a parody of Hollywood movies and hunting. Then the sweet and controversial "Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride," plus "Weight Gain 4000." Tape 3 wraps up the collection with "An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig," about genetic cloning, and "Death," which pokes fun at euthanasia and, ahem, offensive television.
More great episodes! Watch "Damien," "Mecha-Streisand," and "Tom's Rhinoplasty," as well as the Halloween, Thanksgiving, and holidaysspecials. These plots and characters defined "South Park." Laugh again at Cartman's Hitler costume, the evil Barbra Streisand, poor Sally Struthers, and much more.
This video set has sort of a romantic theme. "Cartman's Mom Is a Dirty Slut" and "Cartman's Mom Is Still a Dirty Slut," has Cartman trying to find his father. In "Chicken Lover," someone is "making love" with chickens. "Ike's Wee Wee" takes a look at circumcision. "Conjoined Fetus Lady" shows the school nurse attached to a dead fetus. Also includes "The Mexican Staring Frog of Southern Sri Lanka."
Perfect for die-hard fans. Start with "Flashbacks," an episode retracing many of the early classic episodes. Next up is the Sundance Film Festival parody, "Chef's Salty Chocolate Balls." Then watch the terribly gross "Chicken Pox." This set also includes "Roger Ebert Should Lay Off the Fatty Foods" and "Clubhouses."
This collection is covered in other video sets, but packages them together quite nicely. Includes "The Chef Experience",
"Christmas In South Park," and "The Best of South Park."
