Standout episodes are certainly the Emmy-nominated "Imaginationland" episodes, which were released earlier on their own DVD. Not only do these episodes scrutinize America's battle against terrorism, they weave a hysterical subplot involving Cartman and Kyle into the story. In fact, it's Cartman's ridiculous (and typical) bet that kicks off the whole mess. I loved following the story over three episodes.
Other strong episodes include "The Snuke" with Hillary Clinton, "Cartman Sucks" about homophobia, and "Guitar Queer-O," about the phenomenon that is Guitar Hero.
The eleventh season of South Park was slick. It shows that Parker and Stone have mastered their production process. But at the same time, the humor and edginess hasn't been lost.
A couple of episodes didn't meet the high standards set by the above mentioned shows, such as "The List" and "With Apologies To Jesse Jackson." These episodes were more heavy-handed with their preaching, and just not as funny.
As for extras, as usual, there are only mini-commentaries by Matt Stone and Trey Park, the creators. Though short, they are insightful and funny to watch.
Overall, I highly recommend buying South Park - The Complete Eleventh Season DVD. It's full of laughs, as well as social commentary.
