Guide Review - "King of the Hill" Season Four DVD Collection
"King of the Hill" turns normal situations on their heads, just like "The Simpsons." But for some reason, this outstanding show hasn't had the buzz of its animated companion on Fox. For instance, in "Peggy's Magic," Peggy overcomes her insecurity about her big feet when a fetishist makes a video of her, and Hank doesn't like it. Now, isn't that the stuff of "Family Guy" or some other allegedly more offensive cartoon? So where's the press?
One of my favorite episode from this set is "Hank's Bad Hair Day." In this show, Hank turns to Bill for a haircut when Hank's own barber does a bad job. But Bill charges Hank the government price, which is pretty high. Hank is outraged and takes action. This is a great episode because it showcases how Hank's penny-pinching, common sense ways give him a black and white perspective on the world that confuses and betrays him frequently.
The "King of the Hill" Season Four DVD Collection is for die hard fans and completists. Casual fans will find their interest piqued after watching this top-notch episodes. But everyone will be a little disappointed that there are no bonus features.
