The Bottom Line
"King of the Hill" is a great, touching, funny, mature
show, mixing cheap laughs, character growth and
clever plots to weave a calvacade of losers, weirdos
and people-next-door into a James L. Brooksian ("The
Mary Tyler Moore Show," "Terms of Endearment") circle of
trust and responsibility. Somehow, the show has
missed "The Simpsons" and "Futurama's" ability to generate
excitement with the DVD format.

- One of the most consistently creative shows.
Cons
- Just not on the DVD train for extras.
Description

Guide Review - "King of the Hill" Season Three DVD Collection
"King of the Hill" is great and the third season was
really coming into its own with an odd mix of folk
wisdom and acceptance of the new. Some of the episodes
don't sell well -- Bobby eats all the Lutefisk, a
dolphin hits on Hank -- but they all are inspired and
have just enough heart to keep you caring. Even
paranoid, conspiracy nut Dale has moments of real
human vulnerability. But, unless you're a clarity
nut, there's no good reason to replace tired recorded
VHS copies with the DVDs. They really give you
nothing. Of course, it is fun to have them all in the
same place. The show's great; the DVD's lame.
