Guide Review - King of the Hill Season Five DVD
King of the Hill fans will tell you there's something unexplainable about the charm of this show. It keeps its viewers coming back for more. First we have Hank Hill, this propane-selling fool is nothing but Mr. Texas. His Boggle-crazy wife Peggy is Arlen Middle School's leading substitute teacher. Plus, there's Hank's son Bobby, whose dream of prop comicdom just might get him to the big city--Wichita Falls, that is.
Some of the episodes fizz and pop, while other just fizzle. Stand outs include "Hank's Back Story" about posterior deficiency that causes Hank to lose his winning edge in lawn mower racing. "What makes Bobby Run?" exemplifies how clever a short, pudgy kid who can't play sports can be. "The Exterminator" deals with Dale giving up bug squishing for a whole new way of poisoning things in the form a human resources director.
This DVD set shows King of the Hill is one of the best, mature cartoons of the past decade. It just doesn't show anything else. There's no reason it shouldn't have bonuses to make you want to part with your hard-earned dough. Regardless, if you're a fan this is a good way to catch up on missed episodes or to complete your collection.
