Hank Azaria has had roles in many movies, ranging from lead characters to bit players. Here are the movies that show Hank Azaria at his best.
In this hilarious movie about Armand Goldman, who owns a popular drag nightclub in South Miami Beach and his long-time lover Albert, Hank plays Agador 'Spartacus', the unskilled domestic help. Azaria is delightful with his horrible accent and skimpy costumes.
Azaria won the 2000 Emmy for his meaty role in this made-for-TV movie. His innate cynicism brings humanity to his frenzied sports reporter. His ear for imitating voices lends itself well to portraying Mitch Albom.
Though the movie received very mixed reviews, mostly negative, Hank Azaria's performance is sure to please. Azaria is the Blue Raja whose superhero talent is flinging forks. He is seriously silly and fun to watch.
Azaria puts out a poignant performance, accurately reflecting the desperation of a film writer in a politically turbulent time.
Azaria provides fabulous comic relief in a movie that's not supposed to need it. His jealous lover is passionate, inflamed, and has a hilarious accent, again.
It may seem as if Hank Azaria has been cast by mistake. In "Great Expectations" he plays the sincere fool who has the girl. Watch this performance to appreciate Azaria's versatility.
Azaria's role in this wonderfully dark and funny film is rather small. But he delivers his sardonic lines with leading actor sarcasm and pinache.
Though this movie wouldn't rate a top spot on any list of mine, it does have a healthy dollop of Hank Azaria playing a leading man. So, it must be included.
