"A Big Piece of Garbage"

Futurama parodies the movie Armageddon in "A Big Piece of Garbage." The Professor's new invention, the Smelloscope, discovers that a giant celestial body is on a collision course with Earth. Turns out, it's a huge hunk of garbage that was shot into space at the end of the 20th Century when all the landfills in New York were full. The Planet Express team must land on the garbage mass and blow it up before Earth is destroyed.
