Bender

Bender is the robot on Futurama. He must drink alcohol to stay sober and alive. His heroics have been unexpected and many, including using his flatulence to save the world. His name comes from his function as an actual bender of pipes and metal. But it has double meaning, since going on a "bender" means drinking a lot, which he does.
