Guide Review - "Beavis and Butt-head Do America" DVD
My biggest problem with the boys is that they have been MIA (missing in animation! Ha!) for so long. Would it really be that difficult to make some new material for them? I think Mike Judge is hilarious, and I love him dearly. I'm even looking forward to his new live-action movie, "Idiocracy," nothing to do with Beavis and Butt-head. But I loved "Beavis and Butt-head" so much for so long, it's been sort of weird thinking about them again. Wherefore art thou, dumb people? Give us some new stuff, world! This movie did well. I mean, there was a frickin' sequel to "Deuce Bigalow," for God's sakes!
And the supporting cast? Van Dreeson, Mr. Anderson, McVicker--God help me, I miss you, Stewart. Winger does rule! The whole ensemble is hilarious.
Basically, the whole premise of "Beavis and Butt-head" is that life is a giant dumb-people dog pile, no one is really in charge, and nobody has any empathy for anyone else. I can get behind that. This movie is great and bears re-watching.
The DVD reflects my "no one involved with production actually likes Beavis and Butt-head" theory. Lame DVD packaging, extras too lame to mention--lame, lame, lame. But the movie's great. Take a break from the dog pile and check it out.
