The Simpsons Movie has been a long time coming, literally years. At one time fans feared the movie would be live action, like The Flintsones. Other rumors were that Bart would lose his virginity and the language would be coarse. That's all untrue. Now that the trailer is available, fans can get a glimpse of The Simpsons Movie, and see that it appears to be smart, slapstick Homer-style fun, like the early days of The Simpsons. I'm almost afraid to commit this to writing for fear of jinxing myself, but I am really looking forward to The Simpsons Movie. I am very pleased with the trailer; self-mockery used to be a staple on The Simpsons, but in a good way. By making fun of the fact that the film will be 2D, instead of Shrek-style 3D, they're already addressing a possible concern of critics and studios. How could it not be 2D? And killing the bunny tells us The Simpsons Movie isn't going to become a soft kiddie flick. They're batting for the bleachers.
