Catherine Taber: There is fighting and all that kind of stuff. I think this is true of Star Wars in general, it doesn't play down to anybody, but there's not gratuity.
N.B.: Yes, I would say Episode III is the only one that gets kind of dark and gruesome, understandably so.
Catherine Taber: Absolutely. Each family will judge for themselves, but it's made for kids through adults. I think that everybody can enjoy it. I don't think it's too scary.
N.B.: I also saw on IMDB that you did a Hannah Montana video game. What was that like?
Catherine Taber: That was one of the ones I was talking about where I usually play main characters, but in that one, I did some individual characters. It was a lot of fun, craziness, doing different accents, playing different fans and people that Hannah encounters on her world tour. I know that with a lot of little girls out there, that's probably the most exciting thing on my resume to them. My sister has friends with kids who think that was the coolest thing I've ever done.
N.B.: Did you get to use your Southern accent?
Catherine Taber: No, because it was Hannah Montana's world tour. In this case we used accents from all over the world.
N.B.: So between Hannah Montana and Star Wars you have some pretty big franchises under your belt. Do you have any other projects you'd like to talk about?
Catherine Taber: I have several games coming out that I'm a part of, such as Tom Clancy's HAWX and Rise of the Argonauts. I have a couple of on-camera films I'm working on but I'm not allowed to talk about. Being an actor, you have to have all this patience in the beginning, when you're trying to get your career going and you're pounding the pavement, and now there's so much secrecy about everything, you have to have all this patience when you're working on stuff and you can't talk about it. It's definitely a test of your patience. But it's all worth it.
N.B.: Do you do any theater?
Catherine Taber: I did theater early on. I'm always open to it. In L.A. it's about finding a good theater project to be involved with, which is just as hard as finding a good on-camera project to be involved with. I don't do anything just for the sake of doing it anymore because when I'm pretty busy, and I'm working on great stuff, I like to take the other time to be home, relax, and walk my dog. I have one Jack Russell which I think is like having two kids.
N.B.: Are you planning on attending any other conventions?
Catherine Taber: I'm starting to get invitations, and I love doing that stuff. I went last year to Comic Con and that was my first one ever. I went there with some other actors from my agency in L.A. It was a really great experience. I met people from the U.K. and from Romania. The sci fi and fantasy fans are just nice people. I'm definitely open to doing more. I like to get out there and see people who enjoy the products that we're putting out and hear what they have to say. So I imagine I'll be doing more of those.
It's so cool that you're a Star Wars fan, too. It's the neatest thing because, literally, you meet kids who are six years old with their light sabers and their Jedi robes, and it goes all the way up the spectrum. It touches so many different people's lives, all these different generations, everybody has different experiences about how they first got involved with it. Star Wars will hopefully be around for a really, really long time. There aren't many things that kids and parents can share a love of, so it's a pretty cool thing.
One of the things I love about Star Wars is that it has all these messages you can't beat. Loyalty, friendship, honor, having something worth fighting for. It's a great thing all the way around, so thank you to George.
