Cast Behind the Voices of Archer

For years, the animated comedy series Archer has been regaling audiences with absurdist humor and espionage thrills. The cast of Archer is wildly diverse and includes veteran actors, comedians, and even the show's creator. Some of the cast had never recorded lines for a cartoon before Archer premiered, while others were dab hands at the job.

Here's the cast list for the main characters on Archer, along with where you might have seen or heard them before.

Aisha Tyler (Lana Kane)

Aisha Tyler has a velvety voice and ability to improvise that gives Lana the sexy, sassy attitude we love.

H. Jon Benjamin (Sterling Archer)

H. Jon Benjamin is one of the funniest men I've ever interviewed. He has a long list of credits as a writer, producer, and actor in some of television’s most entertaining series. Along with his role on Archer, which nabbed him a 2010 Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance, he also provides the voice of Bob Belcher on Bob's Burgers.

Where you've seen/heard him before: Benjamin also produced and starred in the Comedy Central series Jon Benjamin Has a Van. Prior to that, he voiced Dr. Katz’s lazy son, Ben, in the animated series Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist from 1995-1999. In 2006, he and David Cross co-created the animated series Freak Show, in which they also voiced characters. You've also heard him on Adult Swim in Home Movies, Lucy, Daughter of the Devil, Family Guy, Assy McGee, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and The Venture Bros.

Jessica Walter lends a note of steel to hard-drinking Malory Archer. She began her career on Broadway in numerous productions. In fact, she starred in the 2011 Tony Award-winning Anything Goes. For her role as Malory Archer, she earned an Annie nomination in 2013.

Where you've seen/heard her before: Most of us were introduced to Jessica Walter when she starred as Lucille Bluth in, for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2005. In 1972 she was nominated for a Golden Globe award for her performance alongside Clint Eastwood in Play Misty for Me.

Chris Parnell (Cyril Figgis)

Chris Parnell for 'Archer'

Chris Parnell is another hard-working actor. He frequently stars in TV series, as well as feature films. He gives bumbling Cyril Figgis the right amount of hesitation in every line.

Where you've seen/heard him before: Chris Parnell is most well-known for the eight seasons he spent as a cast member of Saturday Night Live. His impressions included Tom Brokaw and Joe Lieberman. You can also see him on 30 Rock and Rick and Morty. As for movies, he appeared in comedies like The Five Year Engagement21 Jump Street and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. Chris Parnell honed his comedic timing at The Groundlings Theatre in Los Angeles.

Judy Greer (Cheryl Tunt)

Judy Greer's hilarious performance as Cheryl (a.k.a. Carol, a.k.a. Cherlene) in early episodes of Archer earned her character more and more screen time. Her girlish-sounding voice is perfect for the dim-witted, sex-crazed Cheryl.

Where you've seen/heard her before: You've seen Judy Greer plenty of times, although you may not have known her name. In fact, she wrote a book about it, titled. She co-starred in with Tomorrowland George Clooney, Love & Other Drugs with Anne Hathaway, 27 Dresses with Katherine Heigl, What Women Want with Helen Hunt, and 13 Going on 30 with Jennifer Garner.

Amber Nash (Pam Poovey)

Guy D'Alama/FX Network

Amber Nash is a lucky actress because she gets to say the best lines on Archer as Pam. One of my favorite sayings belongs to Pam, although I can't repeat it here, it has something to do with snacks.

Where you've seen/heard her before: Amber Nash voiced Val on, another cartoon by Adam Reed. Mostly she teaches and performs in her hometown of Atlanta, GA, at Dad's Garage Theatre Company and Laughing Matters, where she employs her top-notch comedic and improvisational skills.

Lucky Yates (Krieger)

Lucky Yates plays the self-proclaimed genius, Dr. Algernop Krieger. His deep baritone lends itself to Krieger's mysteriousness.

Where you've seen/heard him before: Lucky played Xtacle on Frisky Dingo. He also hosted a weekly live on-stage talk show, much like Prairie Home Companion, in Atlanta, GA.

Adam Reed (Ray Gillette)
