Guide Review - 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters' Review

I don’t go to the movies very often, but when I heard Aqua Teen Hunger Force was going to be a full length feature, I knew I had to go.

For those of you who don’t know, Aqua Teen Hunger Force is an animated show on Adult Swim for adults with short attention spans, and college students with a penchant for plant studies.

The beauty of ATHF is that it’s not supposed to be about anything, and the creators don’t take themselves seriously. A lot of critics were worried that 90 minutes of our heroes would be too much. Okay, so maybe they were right, sort of. BUT that doesn’t mean this isn’t a frickin' hilarious movie.

The first half of Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters doesn’t go anywhere, but it’s not supposed to. This is when the jokes are flying and the crowd is laughing its loudest. During the second half, when the plot begins to solidify, that’s when things slow down.

Many of the characters from previous episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force are here; Carl, the Mooninites, Oglethorpe, Emory and Dr. Weird all show up, some playing more prominent roles then others.

The plot of Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters is that Shake decides to find the missing piece of his Insaneoflex (a piece of exercise equipment,) ultimately sealing the fate of the universe and mankind’s demise. The rest of movie kinda plods along.

I don’t want to ruin the ending, if you can call it one, but I will say the initial opening sequence was everything I expected and more. I can’t remember an audience laughing that hard in a long time.
