"Aqua Teen Hunger Force" Vol. 3 DVD

It's been said before about "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" DVDs: if you're not a fan, maybe you should keep that money in your pocket. As a set of DVDs, it's nicely put together with loads of extras. But if you don't get the humor, you've wasted your hard-earned bucks.

"Aqua Teen Hunger Force" Volume 3 DVD offers a lot for fans of the show. The set features fan favorite episodes and scads of extras. But if you're not sure if you should buy it, rent it and decide, or at least check out some re-runs on Adult Swim before making your decision.

The list of episodes includes "Total Recarl," "The Cloning," "Broodwich" and "The." (Yes, that's the title. It's not a typo.) These are the best of the bunch involving somewhat cohesive stories and humor almost everyone can enjoy. I would prefer to skip "The Cubing" and "Spirit Journey Formation Anniversary." That birthday song is just too long to be funny for me. I get why it should be funny. But it just isn't.

Now the extras are a reason to shout. You get the usual promotional clips, storyboards, deleted scenes and scripts. But the best features are the karaoke option to sing that crazy birthday song, and some clips you can use for your outgoing answering machine message.

"Aqua Teen Hunger Force" Volume 3 looks and sounds great, so quality isn't the issue. For me, the show just doesn't cut it. Maybe I'm not young enough, male enough, or high enough. But whatever it is, I'm glad I rented and didn't buy. You may feel differently.
