Adult Swim has taken nighttime TV programming by storm. Now fans can grab some really cool toys to show some love for their favorite cartoons, like "Aqua Teen Hunger Force." Here's my list of the best action figures and toys released in 2005 from the Adult Swim line-up.
This set of two action figures from Palisades Toys is a lot of fun for "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" fans. Each character is hilarious in his own right, and sculpted very well. The accessories are the best feature in this set. Shake's big floatation device, sunglasses and "broodwich" allow for some fun scenarios. They all fit him perfectly. There is also an exclusive set that includes Master Shake wearing a spotlight headpiece, and a glow-in-the-dark version of Mothmonsterman.
These action figures from "Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law" aren't the lead characters, but I'm sure glad they're here. What other figures would come with an accessory like a urinal? Phil also comes with a bust of himself, a hip sculpture, his speaker box and nameplate. The Bear is wearing his trademark grin.
Sadly, Brak is not included in the first release of action figures from Adult Swim. But his Mom and Dad are funny replacements. The kitchen set, a newspaper and a family portrait are included as accessories. Mom is the standard size, while Dad, true to form, is his tiny self. Sit him in the chair! Hide him under the table! Have fun.
The figures of Dr. Quinn and Debbie have more articulation than some of the other Adult Swim action figures. Their likenesses are pretty good. The accessories, however, rock! They can play with a dolphin, their underwater camera, monitor, alarm clock, shot glass, can of Mingus Dew and three whisky bottles with varying labels. Once the other figures are released, it will be a real party! You can find exclusives of Bizarro Debbie and Quinn at the
Adult Swim web site or
Palisades Direct store.
I wouldn't describe this as an action figure, since Meatwad isn't really in action. But it is big. This Meatwad figure measures 5 1/2 inches tall and 6 inches wide. True fans will love it. Others just might shrug their shoulders.
