Guide Review - Adult Swim Action Figures Series 1
First off, the figures have more articulation than I expected. I thought they would be created for display purposes only, cashing in on Adult Swim's cachet more than anything else. But there's just enough articulation to create lots of poses. Even Master Shake's hands and straw can be moved.
I think human characters, even cartoon ones, are hard to reproduce. Palisades comes close with Debbie, Dr. Quinn and Phil. But from a distance, say on the shelf above your desk, no one will say, "Hey, who's that guy?" Well, I guess they will if they don't watch the shows.
The accessories are the best part. There are many clever accessories for each set. Brak's parents have almost a full kitchen set; Debbie and Dr. Quinn have lots of fun stuff to play with (though Debbie isn't so great at holding them.) Even Shake has his floatie, sandwich and shades. But the best accessory by far is the urinal that comes with Phil and the Bear. That will raise some eyebrows if they're displayed at work!
Sometimes the figures are a bit wobbly because they're legs don't match up. And as I mentioned, Debbie can't hold many props. Otherwise, lots of fun for only a few bucks compared to most figures.
