follows a third-generation restaurateur, Bob, as he runs Bob’s Burgers with the help of his wife and their three kids. Bob and his quirky family have big ideas about burgers, but fall short on service and sophistication.
Despite the greasy counters, lousy location and a dearth of customers, Bob is determined to make the grand re-re-re-opening a success. Across the street is Jimmy Pesto’s Pizzeria, Bob’s Burgers' main competition and the thorn in Bob's side.
Bob's wife, Linda, supports Bob's dream through thick and thin, even breaking an engagement to marry him.
The eldest daughter, Tina, is a 13-year-old hopeless romantic with minimal social skills. She serves as a fry cook when she isn't suffering from any itchy rashes.
Their son, Gene, is the middle child. He is an aspiring musician and a prankster who is more interested in telling jokes than serving burgers.
The youngest Belcher, Louise, is the most enthusiastic about her dad's business, but an off-balance sense of humor makes her somewhat of a liability in the kitchen, such as when she tells her class during show and tell that their restaurant serves human remains.
