Guide Review - "The Simpsons" - The Complete First Season DVD

Some fans will argue that the first season is not funny, was crudely drawn and animated, and includes terribly slow plots. To them I say, "[Insert Marge's groan.]" The first season, captured on this long-awaited DVD, hearkens back to episodes when the show had more heart, and fewer brainless-Homer antics. Though the animation hasn't improved on the DVD, the sound has. As Steve Koukoulas at DVDnet said, "Most noticeable is the opening title sequence, which seems to have had a remix that gives a fresh and dynamic approach to the theme song." There are enough extras to leave even die-hard fans sated. So grab some Duff, ready the remote, and enjoy "The Simpsons: The Complete First Season."
