"King of the Hill" Season Two DVD Collection

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment

The Bottom Line

"King of the Hill" Season Two DVD Collection includes classic "King of the Hill" episodes that aren't to be missed. The sophomore season doesn't have the broad humor as the first as the show finds it's audience. Having said that, "King of the Hill" still outshines most TV shows, then and now. Buy it.

Guide Review - "King of the Hill" Season Two DVD Collection

First off, I love "King of the Hill." The humor in the second season is a little more subtle than the first, which I find endearing and respectful. The second season includes one of my favorite episodes, "Husky Bobby," in which Bobby almost becomes a runway model for, um, husky boys. So I highly recommend owning this DVD.

Why, then, do you ask, did I only give it 3.5 stars? Though "King of the Hill" Season Two DVD Collection is packed with extras, they are not necessarily extras I want. Why only introductions from directors? Why not full commentaries? And why do I want to hear Peggy's commentary, rather than Kathy Najimy? I would rather hear good ol' behind-the-scenes dirt than listen to the character reminisce about the episode I'm already watching.

My need for technical information was fulfilled with the Animation Evolution Featurette. And I did enjoy the musical extras, deleted scenes and Easter Eggs. But I still want interviews, footage of the cast recording an episode, or as I said above, actor or director commentaries.
