Clone Wars is a series of 20 animated shorts that occur between Episode II and Episode III of the "Star Wars" saga.

How Many:

Clone Wars consists of 25 animated shorts in total. Each short runs approximately 2 to 3 minutes.

Obi-Wan, Anakin, Count Dooku, Mace Windu, Padme Amidala, General Grievous, Darth Sidious and Yoda all make appearances in the Clone Wars.

Though George Lucas created the stories behind Clone Wars, the animation was left to Genndy Tartakovsky, the man behind Samurai Jack.

Beyond TV:

If by some cruel fate you miss Clone Wars on Cartoon Network, you can catch the action in comic books published by Dark Horse, or on DVD.

Episode Guide (Sort Of):

In the first 10 chapters, Obi-Wan Kenobi, serving as a general in the Army of the Republic, led a team of elite clone troopers in a battle on the planet of Muunilinst. There, he encountered a tenacious bounty hunter named Durge and San Hill, a leader of the Separatist movement. Jedi Kit Fisto led an aquatic assault on the Clone Army on the water planet of Mon Calamari. And Count Dooku recruited Dark Jedi Asajj Ventress for a special mission – to assassinate Anakin Skywalker.

Chapters 11-20 advance the animated saga of the Clone Wars. Taking center stage is the battle between Anakin Skywalker and his would-be assassin, the Dark Jedi Asajj Ventress, protégé of the evil Sith lord Count Dooku. Meanwhile, on the desert planet of Dantooine, Mace Windu must singlehandedly take on an army of Droid soldiers. And Yoda undertakes a mission to rescue two fellow Jedi, Barris Offee and Luminara Unduli, who are trapped on the icy planet Ilum. He is joined by Padme Amidala, C-3PO and R2-D2 on this dangerous mission. In Chapter 20 of "Star Wars: Clone Wars," a group of Jedi Knights is being decimated by a seemingly indestructible new enemy. Only at the end of Chapter 20, do viewers get a glimpse of this enormous villain with a fearsome fighting technique.

As the new chapters begin, the Jedi must change their strategy to defeat General Grievous and keep the Separatist movement on the defensive. Yoda proposes that Anakin be elevated from Obi-Wan’s apprentice to the level of Jedi Knight, but warns that a final test is still to come. As the Clone Wars rage on, Obi-Wan and Anakin lead the Republic’s effort against the uprising, while Separatist leader Darth Sidious plots an attack on the important planet of Coruscant. Anakin and Obi-Wan are dispatched to the far-off planet of Koobi to investigate a reported Separatist grouping. This leaves Mace Windu and Yoda to lead the Republic’s defense of Coruscant and keep Chancellor Palpatine safe from General Grievous and his forces.
