Truth or Square Turns Out Well-Rounded
I had doubts that the recent Truth or Square special of SpongeBob SquarePants would be funny or clever. I was quite wrong. There's a reason the special drew 7.7 million total viewers, ranking as basic cable's number-one entertainment show for the week. Silly dialogue and songs were abundant, and the plot was reasonable. As I had suspected, and hoped, SpongeBob's marriage to Sandy had little to do with anything that happened. Besides SpongeBob decorating the Krusty Krab with toilet paper and mustard, the best part of the episode was the stop-motion animated opening sequence. My kids and I were mesmerized. SpongeBob SquarePants Marries Sandy?
I love SpongeBob SquarePants, but this Truth or Square special smacks of a sitcom stunt, trying to pull in ratings. The press release says,"First there was the intimate tea party in the tree dome. Then, there were all those playful karate chops, and the ripped pants? For years SpongeBob and Sandy were just friends, but we've always wondered... could there be something more? Would these two ever end up together as sponge and wife?" Ugh. I feel the influence of Jon and Kate in this publicity. Hopefully, Truth or Square will be smarter and funnier that I'm expecting. Find out tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET on Nick.

Jaroo.com for Free Cartoons
Jaroo.com is a new website that streams old cartoons for free. It's Hulu.com, but for kids. Supposedly. Looks to me like it's really more for grown-ups hoping to capture some Saturday-morning-cartoon nostalgia. Regardless, you'll find gems like Strawberry Shortcake, Liberty's Kids and Inspector Gadget.
Harley Festival in South Park
Everyone agrees they've had enough of the loud and obnoxious bikers that have arrived in South Park. The boys are taking on the Harley riders. They thrown down the "F word" and the game is on. Watch "The F Word," premiering tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET on Comedy Central.
