Tune in to Machinima

Action FactionAdult Swim fans who are getting bored with re-runs (welcome back Robot Chicken!) should check out the Machinima channel on YouTube. Sure, the channel offers a lot of videos for gamers to get into, with bloopers, glitches and whatnot from top-selling games. But now Machinima is producing two animated comedies that have the same adult comedy found in Adult Swim cartoons.

First up is Action Faction, a parody of superhero cartoons complete with one of each stereotype: a guy who flies, someone who can communicate with animals, someone who can freeze things and someone who's really fast. However, these superheroes are the Gabriel Bros. version of superheroes; they have the same powers, but there's something just a little bit off. The quick dialogue and daddy issues in the first episode kept me laughing and entertained the entire 4 minutes and 52 seconds.

Another series by Machinima is Space Adventure Legend Quest, which is a little bit Futurama and a little bit Aqua Teen Hunger Force. SALQ had some funny moments, but overall the pace was too slow and I could see the punchlines coming a solar system away. However, the potential is there for a lot more humor and character development.

The animation for both of these series is at least worthy of Adult Swim or a night-time slot on The Hub. The Flash animation (I think it's Flash) is a little too animatronic at times, but with time and practice, Machinima could really hit a homerun with these series.
