The Hub is bringing a '90s favorite back to TV, just in time for Christmas. The animated television series Animaniacs, executive produced by Steven Spielberg, is a broad mix of wit, slapstick, and pop culture references. The animated series from Amblin Entertainment and Warner Brothers Animation will be the cherry on top of The Hub's month-long lineup of holiday-themed programming. Animaniacs will premiere with a four-hour marathon on Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. ET, followed by the holiday-themed musical feature film Animaniacs: Wakko's Wish Monday. (Animaniacs will continue on the network's schedule in 2013 premiering in its regular timeslot on Monday, January 7 at 3:00 p.m. ET.)
Animaniacs is a variety show, with short skits featuring a large cast of characters including the Warner brothers, Yakko and Wakko, and their sister, Dot as they have a great time wreaking havoc and mayhem in the lives of everyone they meet. The series also features a number of comedic educational segments, often in musical form. Animaniacs originally ran from 1993 thru 1998, guided closely by executive producer Steven Spielberg.
