StoryCorps Remembers 9/11

9/11Today marks the 10th anniversary of one of the most terrifying and tragic days in recent American history. Dozens of memorials have been created to honor the dead and the heroes of that day. One of the most touching memorials I have seen comes from StoryCorps, which has recorded the stories of loved ones and friends left behind. For each victim of the terrorist attacks, StoryCorps has enlisted someone to honor them by talking about that horrible day. Then animators get to work, creating a visual story to accompany the audio. One incredible animated short is  Always a Family, about the children and ex-wife left behind after a father calls to say good-bye.

Learn more about this noble endeavor, and see more StoryCorps animated shorts, by visiting About.com Documentaries.

Today and all days--peace be with you.
