Last week Fox announced that Seth MacFarlane, creator of Family Guy and American Dad, will be updating The Flintstones for Fox. In a press release Seth MacFarlane said, "The very first cartoon character I drew at age two was Fred Flintstone, so it's appropriate that events have come full circle, allowing me to produce the newest incarnation of this great franchise. Plus, I think America is finally ready for an animated sitcom about a fat, stupid guy with a wife who's too good for him." He's making a joke, but really, isn't Family Guy the updated version of The Flinstones? Does The Flintstones need to be updated? Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, said, "The Flintstones are among the funniest and most beloved characters in television history, and we can't wait to introduce them to a whole new generation on Fox." Well, just air re-runs of the classic cartoon and mission accomplished!

Dont let him get his hands on it! Hes already ruined Family Guy, but at at least that was his own creation. Dont let him ruin an iconic character. How can he do it anyway? Dont the rights belong to Hanna-Barbara who created it?
The Flinstones starring Seth MacFarlane as every voice and singing in every episode, no thanks. He’s waaaaay to into himself. He’s a legend in his own mind.
