Seth MacFarlane Beds Bill Gates

Okay, not quite. But I'm picturing some honcho at Fox having Seth MacFarlane by the, uh, wrists making him sign the contract to sell out like this. If not, MacFarlane is losing his edgy, subversive cred with me. What am I yammering about? In a press release sent out today, Fox announced that Microsoft 7 will be the exclusive sponsor in an upcoming almost-live variety show starring Seth MacFarlane and Alex Borstein. The show will be commerical-free, but feature, "customized branded integrations that seek to bring the old 'Texaco Star Theater'-style sponsorships into the 21st century." The special will include original animation, live-action performances of Family Guy's most memorable musical numbers, comedy sketches and surprise celebrity guests. Can't wait to watch it on Sunday, November 8 at 8:30 p.m. (Looks like The Simpsons dodged this marketing stunt.)
