In a press release, Cartoon Network announced they gave the greenlight for two new original comedy animated series, Regular Show and Horrorbots. Regular Show is about two groundskeepers named Mordecai and Rigby. Their everyday pursuits often lead to things spiraling out of control and into the surreal: they open portals to other dimensions, summon demons via an ‘80s arcade game and accidentally use choreographed dance moves to send co-workers to the moon. Horrorbots tells the story of Thrasher and Blastus, two outsider teenage droids who are only slightly less horrific than the ultra-powerful robots that populate their planet, Killglobe. Now they face their greatest challenge yet: high school. Sounds like regular buddy shows to me, no? Here's to Cartoon Network continuing to greenlight cartoons, not live-action shows.
