Whoa. Not only was Family Guy resurrected from cancellation, Seth MacFarlane's edgy cartoon has shattered another barrier by being nominated for an Oustanding Comedy Series, not the usual Outstanding Animated Program (for programming less than one hour). Not even mainstay The Simpsons has accomplished that feat. But I'm guessing the studio never tried to submit an animated comedy for this category before. I wonder if this will create animosity between top animators? South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have already skewered Family Guy previously. But, as Seth MacFarlane told the LA Times, "It's been somewhat frustrating seeing how prominent a force animated series have become and [that] there's been unwillingness to accept that."
