New Ugly Americans on Comedy Central

Thursday November 20, 2008
How is it that NYC, a home to fashion, stars, and the rich, gets singled out to be the home of Ugly Americans? Anyhow, Comedy Central has started production on a new pilot, it was announced in a press release by Lauren Corrao, president, original programming and development. Ugly Americans (no artwork available yet) is an animated project about an alternate universe in New York City that is being spun off from the comedycentral.com original series, 5-On. Take New York City, add every horrifying beast, science-fiction freak and fantasy faerie, shake thoroughly and you've got Ugly Americans. The animated series follows Mark Lilly, a social worker at the Department of Immigration, as he helps new citizens both human and "other" adapt to hectic life in the Big Apple. Hmm, Men in Black anyone?
