Popeye Creator Celebrated

Monday October 13, 2008
Popeye the Sailor was created in the 1930s, but the cartoons can still be seen today on Boomerang, DVD and other venues. His mischievous laugh, underdog status and heroic efforts, plus that crazy spinach craving, made him an American icon. October 13 marks the 70th anniversary of the death of Elzie C. Segar, Popeye's creator. Visit Legacy.com to learn more about this pioneering artist. Or, compare prices for Popeye DVDs.
