Because "The Simpsons" took a pot shot at "Family Guy," creator Seth MacFarlane says his show will fire back in a future episode, according to the "San Francisco Chronicle."

Just because it’s your favorite show that makes it better? What a dumb statement, just what i expected from someone who watches a dumb show.

I watch Family Guy much more than I watch the Simpsons, but I think the Simpsons wins. I love the literary allusions, and the show seems to revolve around plots and character development instead of loosely connected jokes. Family Guy is funny, but it’s a less evolved form of comedy, more like a skit show.
I watch Family guy these days and I love it. Just like I did when Beavis and Butthead. I like the simpsons but
I prefer the spanish version made by mexicans its a lot more fun than the original in english.Even the voices are better. Of course…that’s my opinion.
i think family guy is much better than the simpsons because matt groening has to do something very funny to make us laugh where as family guy doesn’t and albert is stupid all you have to do is wacth one episode of the simpsons and one episode of family guy and u decide which is funny and mine is family guy. i have been wacthing the simpsons for years but when i wacthed family guy i thought it was much funnier and better!!

Both are great but the simpsons wins by a mile cause simpsons is much more funnier and the jokes are actually linked in with the storyline!

I watch Simpsons and Family Guy, but I think Simpsons are the best. It was the first “comedy-cartoon” and all the ideas come from the Simpsons.

I loved the Simpson’s when it first came on the air, and I have enjoyed it on and off for many years since. But in my honest opinion, Family Guy is much sharper and more contemporary.
I still find myself laughing at the Simpson’s, but not as often or as hard as when I watch Family Guy. Maybe that is because the Simpson’s has been on the air for 20 years now, and it shows. It just feels very old and safe. I have been watching the same show with the same old jokes since I was 12. Why are Bart and Lisa still in elementary school when they should be finished with college and married by now lol. I know it’s a cartoon show, and cartoon characters don’t age or grow up, but it gets kind of boring to see them do the exact same thing over and over again for 20 years. So maybe some realism (show Bart and Lisa as adults or young adults) could breath a breath of fresh air into the show. It would be new situations and new material that the writers could play with.
Anyway, that’s just my 2 cents.
Well this is what I say. I’m not going to lie, Simpons is very fun but it’s funny moments, and when it came out it was the original comedy cartoon.
But watch family guy and you’ll see that it’s cut aways do in a sense connect to the story, because if a character says it and you don’t get it they’ll show you. It’s a stab at slow people. Plus Family Guy is more up to date than Simpsons, Family Guy is in the realworld and what happens here happens on the show, where as The Simpons stays away from that. And to add on, the jokes are outrageous and insane but still keep a vauge sense of reality In simple terms;
Family Guy is more modern and witty in my opinion
i agree with some others, just watch one of each good episode.
ignore the fact that family guy is somewhat a copy (though the element of stewie and brian are completely new characters and elevate the show to new levels of laughs)
family guy is crazy, but its designed to entertain you just like the simpsons, you shouldnt feel the need to empathize with a yellow person, just make sure theya re funny.
simpsons lastability is comendable but family guy has contemporary elements that make it best in 21st century

Family Guy sucks. The episode where jesus comes back was TERRIBLE. From the part where its supposed to be like Office Space right down to the low blow joke about Heath Ledger and the Olson Twins apartment. It was funny how they had to beat around the bush on that joke. Simpson’s sucked after 2001, but at least it’s original, unlike Family Guy who steals from the Simpsons at least 2 times an episode.
family guy is WAY better then the simpsons beacuse its SO funnier then the Simpsons. Peter and Stewie are the best characters! The simpsons are good too, but I like family guy a lot more. “What the duece!”
I believe that both shows are great,but I feel Family guy is better.There may be many similarities between the simspsons and family guy,but they are completely different.
1. Stewie talks and maggie doesn’t.The only similarity is that they are both infants who both seem intelligent.
2. Lois is smarter than marge and seems more controlled.
3. Meg is older and everyone hates her. Everyone loves lisa and she’s eight.
4.Bart and Chris are both pretty stupid,but chris is the younger sibling. Bart is more mischievious where chris is less so.
5. Peter and Homer could be twins,but they have certain differences in behavior and mannerisms.
The simpsons isn’t very funny and the plot-line seems to drag on a bit.They also contradict themselves a lot.In family guy it seems like they are actually getting older. At one point meg is fifteen or sixteen the next she is looking into colleges.
Family guy is wwwwayyyyy better than simpsons by a long shot!!!! because it’s random and it’s not that realistic as it is a cartooon show!!!!!

Simpsons is the clear victor. I’ve watched both since their inception, and have never wavered from the Simpsons. Family Guy is funny, but it gets too liberal and repetitive at times.
Simpsons did go through a dry spell, but lately the episodes are nothing short of hilarious.
